Where do they meet?
All Young Companies meet at Nyth, Bangor, the home of Frân Wen.
But Nyth is much more than a place to come for an hour or two every week.
This is where artists practice. Where shows are created. Where new ideas are tested. Where audiences, young people, artists and communities come together.
It is a place full of creativity and love.Young Company member '25/26
Everything you need to know
We want Young Company to be a creative, fun and welcoming experience for everyone.
Here's some information about what to expect:
No.
It's not necessary to have performed before or to have been part of a theatre company.
What's important is to be curious, ready to try new things and want to create with other people.
The Young Company meets weekly and each group develops together over the year.
In order for everyone to get the most of the experience, we ask members to commit to all the sessions as regularly as possible.
The level of commitment will increase for Young Companies 2 and 3 as they work towards their production. It is possible that there will be additional rehearsals when approaching the performances, and we will share these dates as far in advance as possible.
No two sessions are the same.
One week the focus could be on movement; the following week working with a script, creating characters, writing, making music or inventing a new idea with the group.
You'll work with other people, listen to ideas and contribute.
Nyth can sometimes be a busy, noisy and energetic place.
The Young Company will work through the medium of Welsh.
There's a very warm welcome to new Welsh speakers and learners.
Your Welsh doesn't need to be perfect.
Our team will be there to support and help you feel confident to use the Welsh language.
The Young Company is a place to be adventurous, curious and creative but also a place where we look after each other.
We ask all members to:
For more information or an informal chat about our Young Company contact Elgan on 01248 715048 or e-mail elgan@franwen.com.
