Wythnos Yng Nghymru Fydd
Cast complete for our adaptation of sci-fi classic
We're delighted to announce the cast joining Garmon Rhys and Lois Elenid in the highly anticipated stage adaptation of Islwyn Ffowc Elis’ Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd (A Week in Future Wales).
Joining the cast are Siôn Eifion (Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare’s Globe; Craith / Hidden, BBC) as Tegid / Tem, Sam Reeves (Jasmin Vardimon Company, Avant Garde Dance) as Heinkel and Morfudd Hughes (Ledi’r Wyrcws, DNA) as Nain / Gwenda / Ms Powell.
Written by Mared Llywelyn Williams and directed by Gethin Evans, Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd is a reimagining of one of Wales's most significant literary works. First published in 1957, the novel is recognised as the first adult science-fiction book in the Welsh language.

Garmon Rhys and Lois Elenid were announced in early August
The story follows the journey of Ifan, who is thrown forward decades in time - twice. One future reveals a free Wales filled with love and hope; the other is a bleak world stripped of language, borders, and community. With Mair present in both worlds, Ifan is forced to confront urgent questions about identity, belonging, and the future of Wales.
Tickets are on sale now for the production that will tour theatres across Wales between September and November 2026, visiting Caernarfon, Mold, Aberystwyth, Bangor, Carmarthen, and Cardiff.
The production is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Wales, with special thanks to Y Lolfa for granting permission for this adaptation.
