Praidd

Praidd

Machines work. People break.

Join us on a live working family farm in Aberdaron on Pen Llŷn, as we meet Dafydd, a young farmer taking on the family farm sooner than planned.

A century ago farming meant many hands. Farmers worked side by side, sang together, shared meals, grief and cared for the land. Today machines do the work of twenty men, leaving Dafydd in a dark and lonely place.

As pressure builds in the fields around you, you witness a young farmer caught between inheritance and collapse. In an industry that once made community thrive, who is left to catch him?

Written by Gwyneth Glyn, in collaboration with the community, and directed by Elis Pari, Praidd (Flock) is a powerful and spectacular outdoor production staged on a working farm in Aberdaron. A story of land, legacy and the cost of keeping both alive.

With support from Plas Carmel, DPJ Foundation and Neuadd Dwyfor.

The project has received funding from The Welsh Church Fund, Gwynedd Council and LPIP Rural Wales.

Access

Praidd takes place on a working farm, so the experience involves walking on uneven ground - and while the production is in May, we unfortunately can’t guarantee the weather!

We are committed to making the experience as accessible as possible and will do everything we can to support you.

What to expect:

  • Uneven terrain: Including grass, mud, stones, and farm tracks.
  • Outdoor conditions: Please wear suitable footwear and bring a raincoat.
  • Walking, Standing and Sitting: Periods of walking and standing (up to 1 hour), with occasional opportunities to sit.
  • Parking: Dedicated parking will be available; details will be shared before the show.

To ensure safety, wheelchair and mobility scooter users will occasionally follow a slightly different path to the rest of the audience. We can assure you that this will not negatively impact your experience. More detailed access information will be shared closer to the time.

If you have specific or unique access requirements, or if you would like to discuss your visit in advance, please feel free to get in touch.
