Stage set for Olion finale

Final part of the Olion Trilogy to debut on Am

We're delighted to announce that the closing chapter of the Olion trilogy will premiere next Wednesday, 13 August 2025, exclusively on Am, the groundbreaking digital platform dedicated to discovering and celebrating Welsh arts and culture.

This modern myth, inspired by the legend of Arianrhod from the Mabinogi, has unfolded across three chapters:

Part I: Arianrhod
A live theatre experience staged at Pontio, Bangor, from 20–28 September 2024.

Part II: Yr Isfyd (The Underworld)
A dynamic, site-specific live theatre performance across the streets of Bangor on 28 September 2024.

Part III: Y Fam (The Mother)
Presented as a short film that serves as the trilogy’s epilogue, blending footage from the live and outdoor performances to narrate the surreal journey of a Bangor family in Hirael. This film will be released online on 13 August 2025.

We began Olion on stage, we took it out onto the streets of Bangor, and now we’re finishing the journey on your screens. This final chapter brings all three worlds together in a powerful, visual conclusion.
Gethin Evans, Frân Wen Artistic Director

The trilogy, developed with the creative direction of Angharad Elen, Anthony Matsena, Marc Rees and Gethin Evans - with collaborative support from GISDA, Pontio and Storiel - has redefined the boundaries of theatrical storytelling by merging multi-format media and immersive narratives.

Am provides the perfect platform for this finale. Since its launch in 2020 as the first fully open-access Welsh arts digital platform, Am has become an inclusive cultural hub, home to over 480 creative partners and hosting more than 8,000 pieces of content.
