Deian a Loli Assistant Director
Join the creative team for our new production touring this April.
We're looking for an Assistant Director to join the creative team of Deian a Loli: Y Ribidirew Olaf.
The show has been created by the core team of the original TV series, with Angharad Elen as Creative Producer, Manon Wyn Jones as Playwright and Martin Thomas as Associate Director.
You will work alongside the show's director Gethin Evans (Frân Wen's Artistic Director) in creating the live stage show.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the director in creating the production.
- Contribute actively to rehearsals and producing.
- Attend production meetings.
- Supporting the young cast during rehearsals in various locations.
- Take part in community engagement work that will run alongside the production.
- Lead on some aspects of the rehearsal process (depending on experience).
- A commitment to work in an inclusive and accessible way.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential requirements:
- The ability to communicate in Welsh is essential.
- Interest in creating theatre for young audiences.
- A good understanding of contemporary theatre in Wales.
- A commitment to work in an inclusive and accessible way.
- Willingness to travel around Wales.
- Experience of creating theatre professionally.
Desired Requirements:
Experience of working with communities and children.
Must be available on the following dates:
- 12 – 16 February 2024
- 18 March – 4 May 2024
Rehearsals will be held in Nyth, our new home in Bangor.
TERMS
A weekly fee of £600 and a preparation fee of £1232.32 - plus travel, accommodation and subsistence costs (if applicable).
EXPERIENCE
This is a great opportunity for someone who has a good understanding of theatre making and how a rehearsal room works.
