Multidisciplinary theatre by Frân Wen Young Company
Cwmni Ifanc Frân Wen created ambitious multidisciplinary theatre that celebrated what it meant to be a young person in North West Wales.
The young crew took over a shop in Bangor city centre for three weeks, but the work was the culmination of 12 months of collaboration with Frân Wen.
Mewn Datblygiad (In Development) was Frân Wen Young Company's examination of the huge first steps young people took, the first experiences that defined them, and the expectations that came with those moments.
The young group, with the support of professional artists, took over the shop in Bangor's Deiniol Shopping Centre to create a space that explored and shared through video, music, spoken word, and visual art.
Working with visual artist Rhys Grail, musician Ifan Pritchard, and writer Mared Llywelyn, the young people tackled issues such as the pressure and expectations on young people, the definition of a typical young person, and what it felt like to be a young person today.
