Artists open call for Theatr Unnos

Let's create something unforgettable. In 24 hours!

Almost 10 years later… we’re bringing Theatr Unnos back!

We're looking for 12 artists who live in North West Wales to take part in the exciting challenge this November.

This is your space to play - writer, musician, designer, performer, dancer - we need you!

Theatr Unnos is about celebrating you. The artists on our doorstep.

What is Theatr Unnos?

Imagine a mix between a creative bootcamp and an artistic sleepover.

Theatr Unnos brings theatre-makers, artists and performers together to create an honest and instinctive piece of work. No preparation. No plan. Just 24 hours!

The rules?

Names will be drawn from a hat to form 3 teams, and you’ll receive a bundle of unexpected challenges: a quote, a line, an object, a prompt.

And then? Create something. Fast.

The finale will be sharing your 10–15 minute piece with an audience in a warm, energetic but relaxed evening at Nyth.

The sharing

The pieces will be shared and celebrated as a Nyth Scratch event. No judgement. Just enjoyment.

Theatr Unnos takes ideas back to the roots - the spark, the strange and wonderful moment before the plan begins. In a world of deadlines and funding forms, this is a chance to take a risk and jump in.

Unnos?

Tŷ unnos (one-night house) was an old Welsh tradition where someone could claim a piece of common land by building a small home on it overnight. If the house was standing by sunrise, the land was said to become theirs.
