TV phenomenon set for stage
Deian a Loli live in 2024
Smash hit TV series Deian and Loli is stepping into the world of live theatre for the first time ever.
Deian a Loli: Y Ribidirew Olaf (The Last Ribidirew) is a brand new stage production created by same core team of the original TV series - Angharad Elen as Creative Producer, Manon Wyn Jones as Playwright and Martin Thomas co-directs with Frân Wen’s Artistic Director Gethin Evans.
The multi-award winning television series (Broadcast Awards, Celtic Media Festival and multiple BAFTA Cymru awards) follows the adventures of mischievous twins who have magical powers.
The show will tour five theatres across Wales in April and May 2024. Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, 25 October.
Y Ribidirew Olaf takes place on the twin’s first day in secondary school - but Loli doesn’t want to go. On top of everything, the car keys are missing and they can't go to school. Loli insists that her imaginary friend has stolen them.
They have no choice but to say the magic word - RIBIDIREW! - and freeze their parents as the twins go in search of the key thief.
Deian a Loli: Y Ribidirew Olaf is produced by Frân Wen in partnership with Pontio, with the support of Cwmni Da, the producers of the TV series.
"We’re thrilled to announce Deian and Loli's new adventure and bring the iconic twins to the world of theatre," says Gethin Evans, Artistic Director of Frân Wen.
"It's a big responsibility but also a great opportunity. The creative team's vision is full of the magic, sensitivity and drama we associate with Deian and Loli... with a few surprises thrown in too!
"Once again, we’re working with some of Wales' most exciting creative talents to make this epic story of courage, adventure and imagination come alive on stage for children all over the country."
"We’d like to thank Cwmni Da and S4C for their support in making this show possible and the National Lottery Fund through the Arts Council of Wales for the sponsorship."
Angharad, who was inspired to create the television series Deian a Loli by her own children, Cain and Syfi, is "looking forward to sharing this new adventure with a live audience."
"As Deian and Loli go on a journey to the edge of imagination and beyond, they face the real challenge of growing up, which changes their world forever - something we can all relate to."

"It’s a space where imagination can run free, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and where anything is possible.
"And it will be amazing for the fans of the TV series to be sharing the same space as Deian and Loli, and to experience their adventures with them. I can't wait to see their reactions!"
Llion Iwan, Managing Director of Cwmni Da said:
"Cwmni Da is very proud to see Deian and Loli on stage in Welsh theatres. The series has won the hearts of thousands of Welsh children since it first aired in 2016.
"There is no better company than Frân Wen to bring these characters to life on stage and we are confident that the show will be a huge success."
