Betsan ready for the LOLs

Betsan Ceiriog to make stage debut in coming of age dramedy

TV actor Bestan Ceiriog is to make her stage debut in a one-woman show about a young girl trying to find her way in life.

Written by Mared Llywelyn and directed by Rhian Blythe, Croendena will launch its Wales premiere at Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli next year on February 2nd and will run until the 4th.

Ceiriog will star in the lead role of Nel in the hilarious and heartbreaking Welsh language dramedy which follows the uneasy journey of a young woman facing adulthood in rural Wales.

Following the initial opening, the play will travel across Wales on a 3 week run.

Bestan, who’s no stranger to Frân Wen having played a part in one of their youth productions back in 2014, is looking forward to her professional stage debut:

“Naturally I’m nervous but I can’t wait,” said the actor from Caeathro near Caernarfon who played Bobi in the hit S4C comedy Rybish.

“People will be able to relate to the main character’s story - we all know a Nel! Growing up is not as easy as it sounds and Mared’s script deals with these complexities hilariously.

“In the backdrop of her own insecurities and dealing with grief, she is constantly being judged and treated like dirt.

“But this is not a sob story! This is a celebration of a resilient young woman finding her place in the world. And it’s lol!”
